Evaluation of Natural Airfield Pavements Condition Based on the Airfield Pavement Condition Index (APCI)

چکیده
Natural pavements are an important element of flights. Among other things, they allow the plane to be safely slowed down after it has exited runway. For this reason, load bearing capacity natural airfield and strength turf layer at a specified level required. Currently used testing methods, such as CBR (Californian Bearing Ratio) tests or probe test, separately do not give full image pavement technical condition. The authors presented methodology for assessing condition surfaces based on APCI (Airfield Pavement Condition Index). index is same time surface up 0.85 m strength. mathematical model classification in terms indicator presented. article also presents example using method assess shoulders end safety areas runway one operating airport facilities.

Airfield Pavement Deicing with Conductive Concrete Overlay
Conductive concrete is a cementitious admixture containing a certain volumetric ratio of electrically conductive materials to attain high and stable electrical conductivity. Due to its electrical resistance, a thin overlay of conductive concrete can generate enough heat to prevent ice formation when energized by AC power. Under a research sponsored by Nebraska Department of Roads, Yehia and Tua...
متن کاملModeling of Concrete Airfield Pavements Using Artificial Neural Networks
Airfield pavement design is a decision making process which uses pertinent information available to make required judgments. One of the tools used in the design process is analysis of the pavement system. To be of value, it may be necessary to make many analyses of several pavement systems with different gear configurations and different loading conditions. With the more sophisticated models, s...
متن کاملNeural Networks Analysis of Airfield Pavement Heavy Weight Deflectometer Data
The Heavy Weight Deflectometer (HWD) test is one of the most widely used tests for assessing the structural integrity of airport pavements in a non-destructive manner. The elastic moduli of the individual pavement layers predicted from the HWD deflection measurements through inverse engineering analysis are effective indicators of pavement layer condition. The primary objective of this study wa...

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has undertaken a major hot mix asphalt (HMA) research program for airfield pavements. The Airfield Asphalt Pavement Technology Program (AAPTP) was established in fiscal year (FY) 2004 through a cooperative agreement between the FAA and Auburn University. The program will be funded by the FAA and will be administered by Auburn University. A t o t a l o f...

Heavy Weight Deflectometer (HWD) tests were routinely conducted on three Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) test items in the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA's) National Airport Pavement Test Facility (NAPTF) to verify the uniformity of the test pavement structures and to measure pavement responses during full-scale traffic testing. A six-wheel aircraft landing gear with dual-tridem configur...
